Mountain communities in the Himalayas rely on fragile ecosystems for their daily lives and livelihoods. This session explores how traditional practices, ecological knowledge, and innovative approaches can strengthen resilience and promote sustainable development in highland regions.

Objectives

  • To highlight community-led approaches for sustainable livelihoods in the Himalayan context.
  • To showcase innovations in agriculture, handicrafts, eco-tourism, and local enterprises.
  • To discuss policy, market, and institutional support needed to strengthen resilience.
