The theme ‘Leadership Development Initiatives’ centers on the initiatives taken by the women in conserving the Himalayan Region. The present support and funding opportunities received and availed by the women along with the proposed requirements for the future agendas to conserve the Himalayan Region shall form a part of the discussion under this theme. There have been improvements in conserving the Himalayan region by the women, however it was not an easy task. There were challenges and limitations due to the insufficient funds, extreme weather conditions, disasters proneness etc. However, the challenges were combatted, and significant achievements have been made. There is still a long way to tread upon. The role of the government in this scenario is significant. Further development demands for well framed policies, restructuring of funds and active researchers and volunteers
