Why Choose Himalaya Calling

This session explores the urgent intersection of climate change, human rights, and migration in the Himalayan region—often called the “Third Pole.” As fragile ecosystems are increasingly threatened by glacial melt, extreme weather, and resource scarcity, communities are being displaced, disrupting traditional ways of life. The session will focus on climate-induced migration, the resulting human rights challenges, and the need for climate justice. It aims to amplify voices from the ground and develop inclusive, actionable strategies for resilience and equity in the face of ecological disruption.

Objectives

  • To analyze how climate change triggers displacement and deepens inequality
  • To explore principles of climate justice in policymaking and humanitarian response
  • To promote inclusive dialogue between affected communities, experts, and institutions

Wh o should join

  • Environmental scientists & climate researchers
  • Human rights advocates & legal experts
  • Policy makers & disaster management professionals
  • Community leaders, NGOs, and youth climate activists
